Gullivers planning appeal dates announced

Two days - Tuesday, July 17 and Wednesday, July 18 - have been set aside for the hearing.

The appeal will open at 10am on the Tuesday at the De La Warr Pavilion. The Wednesday session will be held at the Town Hall.

The appeal was due to be heard in May but had to be adjourned because a key member of the Rother planning team was unwell.

Churchill Retirement Living are appealing against Rother council's refusal to grant planning permission for redevelopment of part of the Gullivers site to form 41 sheltered flats for the elderly plus a new indoor bowls rink and clubhouse.

The development is opposed by neighbours who have formed Gullivers Action Group.
