Hampers to win at Chichester Farmers’ Market

Generous producers from across the district are offering two hampers full of farmers’ market goodies as prizes in a draw.

In addition, The Real Burger Kitchen will be offering people the chance to win a £30 meal for two voucher.

The giveaways are part of Chichester District Council’s Countdown to Christmas campaign, supporting local businesses across the district.

The hampers will contain a selection of meat, cheese, vegetable and baked products, plus other goodies. The hampers and meal voucher will be given away at the Chichester Farmers’ Market on Friday, the last one before Christmas.

To take part, people can post an entry form into the box situated at a dedicated stand in the market.

Roger Barrow, cabinet member for the environment, said: “Our farmers’ markets are a wonderful place to shop in the build-up to Christmas.

“We want to showcase the wonderful array of products available and invite people down to the Chichester market on December 18 to share in all the Christmas festivities.

“Thanks to the fantastic range of produce, you will be able to give Christmas dinner a wonderful local flavour.

“Our markets in Chichester and Petworth sell really high quality produce and by shopping at our markets, you will be helping to support your local farms and businesses during the festive period.

“I am also looking forward to seeing the stallholders’ outfits, it’s going to create a real buzz in the city. I hope as many people as possible come along to vote and enter the hamper competition.”

Stallholders will be dressing up as pantomime characters and shoppers will be invited to vote for their favourite. Each person who votes will also be entered into the competition to win one of the hampers.

The Chichester market takes place in East Street and North Street, 9am to 2pm, on the first and third Friday of the month.
