Harvest of hidden treasures at Littlehampton Museum

VISITORS to Littlehampton Museum are being offered an autumn windfall of treasures not usually on show to the public.

The Hidden Treasures exhibition features paintings from the museum’s stunning landscape collection, including some long forgotten views of Littlehampton and surrounding areas, alongside a display of fascinating maps showing the harbour in the mid-19th century.

There is also an impressive “Mother and Child” painting by Reginald Bottomley, from towards the end of the 19th century, and some unique sketches from the 1830s.

“This is a wonderful chance to see some more of the museum’s important collection,” said councillor Joyce Bowyer, chairman of the town council’s community resources committee.

The exhibition continues until November 4.
