Hastings has been named as the place with the joint-highest rate of divorce in the UK by an international law firm.

Cordell & Cordell’s research reveals that 13.13 per cent of marriages in the town end up with divorce, the same as Blackpool.

Eastbourne is the eighth highest on the list and Worthing is tenth.

According to the company, 42 per cent of marriages end in divorce and the average length of marriage is 32 years.
