The council held a minute's silence in Queen's Square this afternoon (Tuesday, May 23) to pay respects to the victims of yesterday's terrorist attack in Manchester.

Cllr Peter Chowney, leader of Hastings Borough Council, led the civic party for the one minute’s silence with the mayor, Cllr Judy Rogers, and Cllr Simon Blackburn, the leader of Blackpool Council, who was in Hastings on council business.

“The leader of Blackpool Council, who is in Hastings on council business, and also leads on anti-extremism and counter terrorism initiatives across local government, joined us in the one minute’s silence.”
