The organisers of the popular station said they were left with an “extremely difficult” decision to make.
Nick Thomas, Hastings Rock station manager, said: “The station is run by a small team of dedicated volunteers, who share the passion of our loyal listeners, and it was an extremely difficult decision to make.

“It is particularly saddening to cancel as the station has also given great support to St Michael’s Hospice, who remain a vital partner for us.”
However fans of Hastings Rock should not despair as the team are planning to come back in 2018 to mark what will be a milestone year for the radio station.

“We’re very sorry for any disappointment cancelling the broadcast may cause but we fully intend to bring the trademark Hastings Rock sound back to the airwaves next year.”
