MOTORISTS could be forgiven for doing a double take at the weekend after seeing a vicar driving a Porsche.

They weren't dreaming, though, as Lancing College chaplain Roger Marsh sped around town in a Porsche Boxster.

No, he hadn't won the Lottery, just a fund-raising prize draw where he got the chance to drive the sports car around for a weekend.

The draw was held by the college to raise money to send a boys XI and a girl five-a-side team on the first mixed soccer tour to the USA.

They left on Saturday to play four games in Boston, New Hampshire and Connecticut against some of the most prestigious schools in the US, including Choate Rosemary Hall, where the Kennedys and Michael Douglas went to school.

The tour, which has been sponsored by Rivervale Porsche, also includes cultural visits to Boston, Cape Cod and Plymouth, where the Pilgrim Fathers landed.
