Helicopter search after robbery
Police launched a helicopter search after a robbery.
A raider walked into Premier Grocery Shop, Station Road, Heathfield, and stole a small amount of cash at 10.15am today (Tuesday).
It is thought he may have been armed.
The man escaped and police launched a search to find him.
A police helicoper joined in the search.
A man was detained by police and arrested on suspicion of robbery on the Cuckoo Trail.
Barman Chris Bailey, who works in The Prince of Wales pub opposite the shop, said it was cordoned off by police.
He said: 'We have heard it was an armed robbery.'
