Help spruce up the town

Take it home, recycle it, or bin it, is the message of the town council-sponsored Seaford Spring Clean.

Take it home, recycle it, or bin it, is the message of the town council-sponsored Seaford Spring Clean.

Today (Friday) and tomorrow (Saturday) teams of volunteers will be collecting all the rubbish they can find at the town's open spaces. The meeting point will be the beach opposite the Beachcomber, Dane Road, from 10am-1pm on both days. More volunteers are welcome to join them.

Town clerk Len Fisher said: 'We live in one of the most attractive areas of the South East and we want to keep it that way. Seaford is not a litter black spot, but even a single crisp packet or plastic bag carelessly cast aside disfigures the town; dropping litter is simply not acceptable.

'This clean up shows that we care about our local environment and we don't want to see it blighted by rubbish. If you share this view, then come and join the Spring Clean.'
