THREE June events relating to the beautiful 12th century church of St Mary the Virgin, at North Stoke on the Downs near Amberley, are being held. One will raise money for the church and the other wo will be in aid of the Churches Conservation Trust (CCT).

The Halle Choir is the guest of the St Michael’s choir on Wednesday June 15 at 6pm when 25 voices will combine to sing settings of Tudor choir music by Byrd, Tallis, Gibbons in the remarkable atmosphere of St Mary the Virgin. North Stoke.

After the concert, which is arranged by Philip Adams, director of music at St Michael’s, the audience is invited to bring a picnic to the beautiful next-door garden of North Stoke Farmhouse by invitation of Jane and David Lock. Tickets £12 (as below) in aid of To celebrate the third year of St Mary the Virgin Friends Group, Crispin Truman, Chief Executive of CCT, will speak about the past, present and future work of the Trust on Saturday June 18 at 3pm. A Midsummer tea party, donations to the CCT, is on Sunday June 19 from 3-5.30pm, hosted for the Friends of St Mary’s North Stoke, by Kate and John Glazier at Hurston Warren, Golf Club Lane, Wiggonholt RH20 2EH.
