Henfield creator of Popagami is VIP guest at popular theme park

A Henfield author was among VIP guests at Chessington World of Adventures Resort in Surrey to mark the opening last week of their new ‘ZUFARI’ attraction.

Author and Popagami Pop-ettes creator Philip Craik demonstrated folding paper animals with children and guests on Wednesday, March 27.

Celebrities and their children at the launch event also included ITV This Morning’s Alison Hammond, Chelsea footballer John Terry and X-Factor’s Jade Ellis.

Mr Craik said: “We are delighted to be associated with Chessington and everyone had fun folding our Pop-ette animal characters on the launch day.”

ZUFARI is an adventure ride in which visitors see rare wild animals during an exciting journey in off-road trucks through extreme terrain.

‘The World of Popagami’ book was in The Independent’s seasonal top 50 book gifts list for Christmas – and the Pop-ette characters are becoming an international sensation.

The fun creative book for children, available through major distributors, on-line and through High Street shops, is packed with a dozen easy-to-fold colourful animals.
