Heroes remembered at Battle of Britain march

HORSHAM’S heroic war dead were commemorated at the annual Battle of Britain march on Sunday September 18.

The parade included a service at the war memorial in Carfax, held on the 71st anniversary of the 1940 battle.

Wreaths were laid by the Lord Lieutenant, the chairman of the council, the Air Cadets, the Sea Cadets, the police, the Royal British Legion, RAFA, and other local organisations.

The Royal British Legion Band led the parade.

After the wreath laying, a service was conducted by the vicar of Horsham, at which RAFA padre the Revd Michael West preached.
