Highways forumchair to continue
RYE councillor Granville Bantick is set to continue in the role of chairman of Rye Highways Forum after being given a vote of confidence.
Cllr Bantick had offered to step down after being criticised for not taking a stronger stance on a council proposal to amend the conditions of a new loading bay.
Cllr Bantick said: “I have received support from several quarters including Councillor Glazier who said he thought I had in the past done a good job in leading the Forum so I decided I would continue as Chairman, but will set out a new protocol.”
