The 27-year-old goalkeeper is said to be keen to appear in the programme but would need to work around her training for Dutch side SCHC, who are based in Utrecht.

It has also been reported that if Hinch’s busy schedule becomes a stumbling block, GB teammate Sam Quek will take part.

The 16th series of the programme - hosted by dynamic duo Ant and Dec is set to start on ITV on November 13. Other celebrities linked with taking part in the jungle, where contestants are forced to undergo a series of trials and live in a basic camp, are shamed boxer Tyson Fury, ex-England boss Sam Allardyce, Wayne Rooney’s wife Coleen, Louis Smith, and Robbie Savage.

If Hinch does make the jump, surely the Bushtucker Trials will be a breeze for the golden girl.
