HOMES PLAN EDGES CLOSER

A MAJOR housing development at Uckfield came closer yesterday.

Members of Wealden District Council's development control (north) committee gave conditional approval to building 220 homes and retail space off Eastbourne Road, known locally as the Cysleys Farm plan.

However, the decision was immediately referred to the council's regulatory committee which will meet on January 19. A

t the same meeting, a planning application for 300 homes and business space at Bird-in-Eye (North), which is just outside the Uckfield town boundary in the parish of Framfield, was refused.
