Horse rescued from pond in Westbourne

FIREFIGHTERS saved a horse trapped up to its neck in a Westbourne pond yesterday (July 19).

The small horse was trapped in a field off Cemetery Lane around 9am. It had to be lifted from the pond by officers using a crane and it was left in the vet’s care to recover.

Rescue officers from West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were at the scene from 9am to 11.45am.
