Horse rider taken to hospital

A woman was taken to hospital after falling from her horse near Pulborough.

The incident happened on Saturday afternoon.

A South East Coast Ambulance Service spokesman said: “SECAmb was called at 14.10 hrs to the equestrian centre outside Sainsbury’s in Stane Street.

“We attended to a woman in her late 20s who had been thrown off her horse.

“We dispatched two ambulances to the scene and assessed and treated the patient for a head injury.

“She was taken to Royal Sussex County Hospital by road ambulance for further treatment.”

The Kent, Surrey and Sussex air ambulance also came to the scene, landing in a field nearby.
