Horsham Air Cadet praised as ‘role model’ after earning honour

Cadet flight sergeant Andrew Stuckey, 17, a student at Collyer’s in Horsham, was awarded the honour at an awards ceremony at the Hawth in Crawley.
He said: “I am truly humbled. I never expected such an award and I am extremely grateful for the nomination and hope to live up to it.”

Hide AdAndrew joined the team of 1015 (Horsham) Air Cadets to pursue his interest in the military, and has taken part in the air cadet leadership course.
The awards ceremony was presided over by the Lord Lieutenant of West Sussex, Susan Pyper.
Officer commanding of 1015 (Horsham) Air Cadets, flight lieutenant Richard Foster, said: “Andrew has an infectious enthusiasm for all activities and demonstrates commitment and initiative and his can do attitude singles him out as a role model to all those around him.”
Her Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant’s Cadet of the Year award marks the achievement of outstanding service by an individual to their cadet movement.
