For the past nine years, local schools, colleges, nurseries and companies have been taking part in the fun and supporting the hospice.

Chloe Dyas, from the Hospice, said: “Whether it’s a mufti day, a yellow cake sale, yellow karaoke, yellow party, or even a banana eating competition, there’s plenty of ways for everyone to get involved and raise money or sponsorship for the Hospice.

“If you are a knitter or crocheter, the Hospice is also looking for donations of handmade yellow flower brooches to be sold throughout the Yellow Day celebrations. All handmade brooches need to be delivered to the Hospice by Friday March 13.”

Fund raiser Amanda Hildreth said: “The cost of running the Hospice is £5,000,000 each year, so every donation, helps us to provide specialist palliative care services to patients and their families in Hastings and Rother.”
