Hospice challenge

ST MICHAEL'S Hospice is challenging people to walk over burning coals and broken glass to raise funds.

Following on from the success of last year's Firewalk, the hospice has announced another challenge which will take place at Hastings United Football Club on Wednesday April 4.

The event will include a glass-walk at 6.15pm and a firewalk at 9pm. Those wanting to take the challenge will have to pledge a minimum of 150 in sponsorship money and be aged 16 or over.

Entertainment on the day will include live music from the ODAWA Band, skills from Hastings Community Circus and drumming from Section Five.

Event co-ordinator Cheryl Davies said: "The Hospice are delighted to offer once again the opportunity for you to walk barefoot across 20 feet of hot coals burning at 1236 degrees without experiencing any pain or injury.

"Why would you want to do this? We all have to face things we are uncertain about. If you can conquer fear in the very real form of walking across hot embers then you can use this experience as a benchmark for any other situations in the future."
