Hotham Park gears up for £2mrevamp

Members of Hotham Park Heritage Trust face one of the most crucial years in the history of the Bognor Regis group.

The park is set to be revived from this autumn with a 2m-plus lottery funded makeover with the removal of the former Rainbow's End theme park among the priorities.

The trust's recent ninth annual meeting was told by its chairman, Rosemary Warren, its committee was keeping abreast of the proposals and concentrating hard on ensuring the ecology of the park remained a priority.

The meeting also featured an open debate on proposals for the coming year and ways in which the trust can contribute towards preserving the heritage of the important green space.

Mrs Warren was voted back into her position for the coming year along with all the officers and committee members.

She reported the past 12 months had been active with the park's regeneration approaching.

Thanks were expressed to Diana Strachan for her leadership of the events committee for organising the carol concert, fun in the park and country fair.

This year's country fair will be held in August 11 and 12. Offers of help should be made to Mrs Strachan on 01243 866587.
