Hove school damaged in storm shuts to students

King's School in Hangleton Way, Hove, confirmed it had closed to students following 'significant' damage caused by Storm Ciara.

The school said on its website: "The school is closed to all students on 10th February 2020. We regret that the damage on site from the storm this weekend is significant.

"The building contractor, Kier, are on site and assessing the situation.

"We are taking steps to attempt to make arrangements for students for the rest of the week and will communicate these later today."

In the wake of the closure, Blatchington Mill School has offered to accommodate 100 Year 11 students in its old Sixth Form block, a parent told the Indy.

Students will reportedly join the school from tomorrow (Tuesday), until Friday.
