Representatives from East Sussex County Council’s education department will talk about whether schools will be enlarged or the possibility of building a new school at St John’s Church on Tuesday, May 10.

Bexhill Town Forum’s committee organises meetings to discuss topics suggested by residents and next month’s gathering is filled with subjects ranging from disabled access to a ‘dog park’.

Forum chairman Alan Peirce said: “We are delighted that members of the public are now finding their voices and bringing to the forum the topics that concern them and our town. This is how the content for May 10, has been put together making the evening entirely member-driven.”

Many forum members have expressed their concern about how schools will cope with the future housing developments so county council officers will talk about how decisions on school capacities are made and what is proposed.

Rother District Councillor Charles Clark will be presenting his case on why disabled access in the town needs improving and what should be done.

A suggestion to create a designated, enclosed park for dog owners to let their pets run free without the risk of escape will be discussed as well as representations from Bexhill Youth Council.
