Hubs on way to help Mid Sussex homeless rough sleepers

Homeless people in Mid Sussex will be helped by “outreach hubs” set up by councils.

Organisations are being invited to bid to run them using grants from Sussex Homeless Outreach Reconnection Engagement.

Sussex Homeless Outreach Reconnection & Engagement is a partnership of local authorities in Sussex It offers grants to provide outreach services to rough sleepers.

It has £216,000 to invest in hubs covering East and West Sussex over 18 months.

The grants provide outreach services that can prevent rough sleeping and homelessness, as well as improve the health, social care and wellbeing of people sleeping rough.The closing date for bids is midnight November 10 and it is expected that the new service will be commissioned to start from December 2013.
