Hundreds enjoy fun day
From eight-weeks-old to over 80, all enjoying a wonderful day of entertainment, fun and games not to mention a quite amazing BBQ.

Hide AdTown mayor Sujan Wickremaratchi opened the event giving special thanks to the sponsors -The Orchards, Rotary, HHTC, MSDC, Ecotecture, Bell group, P&S Gallagher, Leaders Property, Affinity Sutton as well as all the generous local businesses who donated raffle prizes.
Then it was the turn of local nightingale Tania Rodd, who got everyone dancing with some foot-stomping numbers.
Little ones scrambled up and down the climbing wall and were initiated into circus skills, all were overawed and some a little fearful by the display by the birds of prey.

Hide AdThe football competition was hard fought while the sumo wrestling suits were well used with hilarious results.
BCP Chairman Stephen Hillier, who was taken on by his daughter Jade at the sumo wrestling, was delighted by the success of the day.
He said: “Bentswood is becoming a very special place and it was smashing to see so many of our community coming together to enjoy themselves.

Hide Ad“The great news was that the event raised well over £1,100 to fund the work of the BCP in the community and this was due largely to all those who worked so hard organising ahead and on the day,” he added.
“Special thanks must go to Nicky Dodds from Affinity Sutton. the WSCC communities team, the town council, Anna Sharkey, Barbara Lank, Joyce Sharma, Clare Thompson, Simon Kingsley Young and Bryan Fairhall.
“This was the best fun day since I have been involved with it and hopefully more residents will join our team to help organise next years event and the other activities we do.”
Next up is the Christmas party at Haywards Heath Town Football Club on Thursday December 1.
