Hurst green Primary School will hold their Christmas Fayre, at the school, on Saturday December 8, 12pm to 3pm. Many stalls for you to get all your Christmas goodies, gifts, crafts, cards, festive wreaths and floral fancies, wooden toys and traditional games. games, guess the Santa, face painting, luxuries, cakes, mulled cider. Lots to see, from pocket money treats to gorgeous gifts, and of course Santa in his grotto

Casino Royale, Fun Night in the village hall, Friday November 7, 8pm, prizes to be won, £5 entry includes ‘Fun Money’. Black Jack, Poker, Roulette, no experience needed, help and advice available. On Sunday December 9 at 6pm there will be Carol Singing and the lighting of the holly tree at the Hurst Green Hub (the new shop project), for the benefit of anyone new to the village this is at the former Catholic Church on Station Road. There will be mulled wine, mince pies and soup available, the Carol Singing will be led by the Harmonique Singers, a recently formed Hurst Green choir, everyone in the village is welcome.

Etchingham Church Services over the Christmas period will be as follows; Sunday December 16, 4.30pm, Carol Service led by the Reverend Peter Clark. Sunday December 23, 11am, Holy communion led by Reverend Simon Gurd. December 24, 4.30pm, Crib and Christingle Service led by Ruth Waller. December 24, 11.30pm, Midnight Mass led by Reverend Peter Clark. December 25, 10am Morning Service led by Sue Greener.

Robertsbridge District Trefoil Guild has not been mentioned for a while, but it continues to meet every month, on the first Thursday, 2pm at the Robertsbridge Guide Hut. They have a very varied programme, and are a very welcoming group, so if you have fond memories of you time in any part of the guiding family, they would love to hear from you. The next meeting is Thursday December 6, when they will be holding their Christmas Party, they do not let any opportunity to celebrate pass them by,, and it’s nice to be one of the first Christmas parties. An experimental Traffic Order was introduced in Etchingham in July, with various yellow lines and parking restrictions, this will be reviewed by Highways in February, any comments received will be taken into account before a decision is made on the scheme, if you have any comments regarding the traffic situation in Etchingham you will find details of how to comment in the Etchingham column.

Remember, I have taken on the Hurst Green column, as a temporary measure, to keep the column going, but I am not in Hurst green all the time, if you want details of your events and organisations included in this column I have to rely on you sending me the details, I will only be able to include information that is sent to me so it is up to you to make sure I get the details. I have taken on the column for a limited period until someone comes forward to take it over, that could be you, there must be someone in Hurst green able to take on the role. Christmas will be the next big event, so get details of all your Christmas events to me as soon as possible, as December is always a busy time, it would be useful if you could also send me details of all your January events, if you do not tell me about your event I may not be aware it is happening, if I do not know about it I cannot include it in this column.
