HISTORICAL TALK: at Danny House on Friday 12 February, 7.30pm. Dr Caroline Adams of the West Sussex Archives will be giving an illustrated talk on Domestic Bliss in Tudor West Sussex, by kind invitation of Richard Burrows. Anyone who is interested in history is welcome to go along, and the evening has no admission charge.

MUSICAL INTERLUDES: will be provided by pianist Fran Hall who is coming to play at the coffee morning on Saturday 20 February, at Holy Trinity Church, from 10 to 12 noon. Throughout the morning she will entertaining with a selection of piano pieces, whilst everyone can browse a variety of stalls selling home made jams, arts and crafts, jewellery, cards, cakes and more. Free admission. Do pop in.

HURST FESTIVAL: this year will be from 17 September to 1 October. If you have suggestions for this year’s Festival programme, would like to help organise events, or would like to join the Friends so that you get priority booking on your tickets, please get in touch. MILLENNIUM GARDEN TRUST: I am sure that many of us walk through the garden, sometimes as an alternative route along the High Street when going in that direction. You may not know that it is administered by a trust and at some times of the year working parties form to carry out necessary work to maintain the wild life. Although this year’s AGM has taken place anyone still wishing to join or take part in the upkeep of this great amenity, or to simply to find out more should contact Sheila McNeill on 01273 832756.

HIGH STREET CONTINUED: Those concerned about the problems in the High Street regarding parking and the effect on our shops should rally to Maddy Dunckley’s plea for an open meeting in the Village Centre with the Parish Council, traders and residents to discuss the way forward. FOODBANK IN HURST: This has been set up to help to help those in crisis locally, unable to travel to collect food, and by obtaining the voucher for this from the Families Centre at the Village Centre. If you would like to donate food or volunteer look on the website http://www.burgesshillfoodbank.org.uk/page12.php or e-mail to [email protected] or drop in at the Social Club off Willow Way on a Wednesday morning from 9am to 11am, when donations are also welcomed.
