CHURCH NEWS: The 9.30 am Parish Eucharist for the 3rd Sunday of Advent will be led by Rev. Canon Robin Whitehead. During the week we remember Lucy, Martyr at Syracuse in 304 and St. John of the Cross, Poet, 1591.

WEATHER: Bright sunshine and hard frost does seem to be more properly seasonal than the mild wet stuff, doesn’t it? Have you happened to notice how bright and near Venus seems to be in the early evening, looking a bit west of south? Flanked by a tiny sickle moon, the clear night sky looks very festive.

QUEEN’S HEAD: The live music on Sunday at 4 pm will be Delta Blues played by Kent Duchaine. Perhaps you need to be planning your Fancy dress for the New Year’s Eve party?

SCHOOL NEWS: It was a really successful week for many children last week. Octopus Class enjoyed the Big Christmas Sing at the White Rock Theatre and the Learning Ambassadors acquitted themselves very creditably when they were at the Sussex Coast College. The staff at the school are very grateful for the positive and supportive responses to the parent/ carer questionnaire. The Head Teacher awards reflect the motto of Hope, Faith and Love. This week the awards go to Starfish Class; Deacon for setting a good example to others; Stingray Class, Leo, also for setting a good example to others; Dolphin Class, Jacob for exhibiting great knowledge on the school trip; Octopus Class, Lily T. for setting an outstanding example in all her work. The Class awards go to ; Starfish Class, Christie and Moses; Stingray Class, Oscar and Paige; Dolphin Class, Lily C. B. and Grace G.; .Octopus Class, Cam and Leon. Well done every body.

CONTACT: There will probably be a few more fairs to come, and lots and lots of carols in various places. Please will you help me to advertise the right event on the right day at the right time? Thank you.

AND FINALLY: Enjoy each happening as it comes. This week I still have to write the script of the nativity play !! We’ve begun the songs though !! Well, I’ve got until Christmas Eve.
