GREETINGS: Have you had a good week? hope so. And have you noticed the DATE today? 14th October changed the history of England. I wonder what it would be like today if Harold had won the Battle of Hastings instead of William? The language would be different I am sure. We have lots of French in our English ! There are many things happening in Hastings over the weekend, including the Procession and bonfire and firework display on Saturday 15th. This will necessarily involve road closures, so either join in or keep out of the way. The route is from The White Rock eastwards, the bonfire is opposite St. Mary in the Castle.

WEATHER: The terrible hurricane Matthew has not caused us any nasty storms yet. As it progresses northwards up the coast of America, we watch carefully for increase winds coming our way. Today it is sunny and warm-ish. No rain is forecast. There are still roses in the garden and mowing is still necessary.
