Well Done Icklesham School. Lots of different ideas sponsored by families and friends raised £826.85 for Comic Relief.

If you have not already purchased your tickets for Icklesham Players ‘’The Canterville Ghost’’ then you had better hurry to Icklesham Village Srores where they are available at £6.50 for adults and £4.50 for children. You can also reserve by calling 01424 812996 and there is not a lot of time left as the first performance is next Thursday 18 April at 7,30. There are three more performances after tat on Friday 19 and Saturday 20 at 7.30 and Saturday afternoon at 3pm. Lots of familiar faces in he cast as well as some new ones. They are happy to welcome Ann Edwards to the Players in the role of the housekeeper Mrs Umney. Nicky Harris is in it but you will be hard pushed to rcognise her, David Carey-Stuart plays the ghost and his daughter Grace is the stuttering young Lord Cecil. The American Otis family are played by Kevin Nuttall,Clare Murray, Henry Baricoat-Hill, Hannah Routledge,Jemina Eastes, and Jennifer Routledge. Newcomer Jake Willis plays Lord Canterville. Refreshments will be available and there will be a raffle.

Tomorrow Saturday 13 there is a bric-a- brac sale and Coffee Morning in THe Five Villages house run by the Social Club. It is from 10 till noon and everybody

is welcome.

The Robin Hood Bonfire Society and Boot Salesare hosting their annual party for over 60s on Saturday 27 April in the Memorial Hall. Free food,drink and entertainment by Ricochet. It’s 1.30 for a 2pm start. The book phoe Sue 0142414277.

The Church Council is at present preparing an application for a Lottery grant to repair our Parish Church tower. This is the oldest part of the building dating from about 1170.

Icklesham was in the list of rare moths trapped in Sussex in 2012, A Three-humped Prominent is a very rare immigrant and less than 6 have been recorded in over a century. The caterpillar has the humps but it has never bred in Britain, The other rarities trapped in Sussex also have fascinating names - Shining Marbled,Pale-shouldered Cloud,Jersey Mocha and Tamarisk Peacock.
