This month’s Church Market is tomorrow, Saturday, 11.00am - 2,00pm. There’s the usual coffees, teas and light lunches plus a lovely mixture of things to buy. Everybody is welcome at this very sociable market.

Sunday 22 Morning Prayer 10.30 followed at noon by the Annual Vestry and Parochial Church Meeting. This is the Parish Church’s A.G.M. when the 2 Churchwardens and Parochial Church Council members are elected. Reports about the Church finance and fabric will be presented,

Saturday 28 April Jumble Sale 1pm in the Memorial Hall in aid of Church funds, If you have jumble to give deliver it to the Hall from 2pm on Friday 27 or 9.30 am on the Saturday.

The Church and its congregation must find £36000 a year without any assistance from outside and they all work very hard to raise funds. However if you would like to make a regular donation especially using gift aid this would be a great help., or even think about a bequest it would be greatly appreciated. Sunday 22 April Queen’s Head Live Music 4-6 is Local Heroes doing Rhythm ‘n Grooves.

Last Saturday was the Final Quiz Night of the 2011/12 season. As usual the Hall was full and 15 teams competed. Top Table beat Staylybridge Celtic by a point and during the evening other teams led - Pre-War, Flower Power, Nobby’s Nuts, One Out All Out, Table in the Corner, Cold and Casual, and Beaumont’s Bombers all had their moment. £341 was raised for Icklesham Casuals. In the 6 night season over £2000 has been raised for the community. Others to benefit are the Parish Church, the Horticultural Society, the Cricket Club, the Stoolball Club and the Ladies Darts team who donated their donation to Macmillan Nurses. The 2012/13 season starts in October. A big Thank You to Stuart Baker and his excellent team for this very successful village activity.

This year Icklesham Casuals celebrate their 75th anniversary. As part of this Friday 11 May is a Race Night in the Memorial Hall which aims to raise £750 of the target of giving £7500 to various charities. In fact if the Race Night makes £750 this sum will be matched to make a total of £1500. Tickets are £5 and you can buy a horse which could be a winner. The compere of the Race Night will be ex club captain Steve Beale.

The charities to be helped are; - St Michael’s Hospice, Motor Neurone Disease Association, Breast Cancer Breakthrough, Alzheimer’s Society, The Stroke Association, Parkinson’s UK, Neuro Foundation and Access Sport.

The Robin Hood is hosting a charity Bingo night on Tuesday 24 April starting at 8pm. All proceeds will be donated to Rye Memorial Hospital in memory of Mrs Iris Rudd of Winchelsea.
