Ladies and Gentlemen of Iden, I don’t presume that I could ever replace Marion Lovell, but a replacement is needed, and I am going to give it my best shot. Your Iden is my Iden too, and although we may appear to be quietly tucked away in glorious countryside, we are bursting with activity at every seam, and hopefully I can follow that trail of activity. I am sure you would all wish to join me in thanking Marion for her consistent penmanship. Her accuracy and warmth will be much missed, and so will she. Marion has been Iden’s constant stalwart and friend

So here goes!

Iden W.I. Held three consecutive days of Christmas fun. Their own Christmas party held on 10th December in the Village Hall, with sherry charades and mince pies, included a visit from Santa Claus.

On 1 1th December, they climbed aboard a coach, and headed for an enjoyable day at Leeds Castle Christmas Fair.

On th December their Christmas dinner was held at “The Bell”, a very festive affair and great food.

The “Pop-In” will be held on 23rd December. Ray would like everyone to wear a Christmas hat but all are welcome with or without a hat.

The next Parish Council meeting will be held on 7th January at7.30p.m.

The WI. Meets on the second Tuesday of each month. New members will be welcome. The next meeting will be held onl4th January in the Village Hall. This will be an open meeting. All are welcome to hear Sue White talk about her work in the Gambia with the charity B ACE.

The Iden and Playden Garden Society annual social evening for members and their guests, will be held on Saturday 25th January at 7p.m. in the Village Hall.

The Christmas services at Iden are as follows 24th December midnight service with communion will be held at 11 .30p.m. On 25th December family Christmas day service will be at 9.30a.m. On 29th December the parish communion service will be held as usual at 9.30a.m.
