Iden

The sun came out at about 4.45pm on Sunday, when many visitors had completed their tour of the lovely gardens in Iden. There were certainly lovely things to see, and the grey day did not seem to deter visitors. At least it was not raining. And thank you for the scones, jam, cream and strawberries !!

The surprise seemed to be the additional opening of the miniature railway, with lots of enthusiasts running their trains around Paul and Brenda’s garden.

We hope you will come and look at the Playden Gardens next weekend.

The Iden and Playden Garden Society has the Summer Flower and Produce Show on Saturday 22 nd June in the village hall from 2.30 pm. There will probably be roses and sweet peas, so it will be a treat for the nose as well as the eyes.Refreshments will be available.

Iden W.I. has the next meeting on Tuesday 11th June at 7.30 pm in the village hall.

The Parish Council met last week, but I have not so far received a report.

The mid-week services continue on Wednesday at 9.30 am for Morning Prayer and 3.30 pm for Evening Prayer, in Church, led by the Vicar.

This Sunday commemorates St. Richard of Chichester. The 9.30 am service will be Parish Communion led by the Vicar.
