Meanwhile Rye Harbour RNLI has launched an appeal in a bid to raise £63,000 to replace its lifeboat, Hello Herbie, which was written off during a recent call out.

Bonfire stalwarts Jimper Sutton and John Izod, who both passed away earlier in the year, will be given a suitable send off when their ashes are sent up in a firework at Rye Bonfire celebrations later this month.
