Indian off the menu

The owner of an Indian restaurant has been banned from running any food premises after inspectors found dirty pans, lights, and cooking equipment during a routine check.

Nazrul Miah was fined and received the six-month ban after being prosecuted for five food hygiene offences following an inspection of the Thariff Indian Restaurant in Adelaide Road, Chichester in March last year.

He was charged with not keeping the restaurant clean and well maintained, not providing adequate hand washing facilities, having dirty food equipment, not clearing rubbish frequently and not storing food in a safe way.

Worker Moshrul Miah was also prosecuted by Chichester District Council for one offence.
