Internet fight film investigated

YOUNG thugs have been filmed fighting in public in Peacehaven - the results being posted on the internet.

The latest example of the 'happy slapping' craze, in which violent incidents are posted on video-sharing websites, has shocked local people who have had their attention brought to it.

More than 70 people have so far watched this latest incident in which two male teenagers are seen kicking and punching each other in what looks like South Coast Road while others watch in the background.

Peacehaven county councillor Phil Howson said he had seen the video and was absolutely disgusted.

'We have to put a stop to this sort of thing before it gets out of control,' he said.

'It is horrendous to think what could happen through the

PC David Newman, stationed at Peacehaven, said: 'We have looked at the footage and, although the fight appears to be staged, we are taking it very seriously.

'The danger is that it encourages others to do the same sort of thing; we are trying to identify the offenders, who we understand are from Peacehaven.

'Anti-social behaviour in a public place will not be tolerated.'
