It’s anyone’s guess where East Preston’s Steve stops

He sets off from Worthing Pier at 7am on Saturday (September 14) on his Splash4Cash 10-hour swim.

As for the destination, it’s a bit of a guess, but one which could win someone £1,000 for being closest to the distance Steve covers, swimming west along the coast to Littlehampton, and then up the River Arun.

So far, almost £3,000 has been raised, with the bulk going to Chestnut Tree House children’s hospice and 20 per cent going to the RNLI.

Steve expects to enter Littlehampton harbour between noon and 1pm and faces a tough time swimming upstream. He will be towing a bright orange lightweight buoy behind him and once in the harbour will be escorted by a rigid inflatable from the Action Boat fleet.
