Join the effort to sweep up storm’s damage in Littlehampton

A community action effort is being organised on Saturday (January 11) to help clear up all the debris and rubbish which has been washed ashore following the recent storms that have caused widespread havoc across the nation.

The clean up is being supported by Arun District Council and will be taking place from the East Beach Café, from 11am.

The group is now urging as many people as possible to come out, slip on their rubber gloves and whip out their plastic bin bags to help clean the town’s treasured coastline.

Clare Linney, who has helped to organise the event, said: “Anyone is welcome to pop along and volunteer.

“A member of the coastguard team will talk to people about safety and what not to touch. Parents with children are more than welcome.”

Much of the rubbish scattered across the beach and promenade is rope, netting, glass and other debris.
