Jury sworn in for trial of man accused of stabbing wife to death in Bognor

A jury has been sworn in for the trial of a man charged with stabbing his wife to death in Bognor Regis.

Cassandra Hasanovic, 24, was declared dead at hospital after police were called to a property in Normanton Avenue on July 29 last year.

Her husband, Serbian-born Hajrudin Hasanovic, 33, of Prescott Close, Guston, near Dover, was charged with her murder the following day. He denies the charge.

A jury of nine women and three men was sworn in at Lewes Crown Court and prosecutor Philippa McAtasney QC will open the Crown's case from 10.30am on Wednesday.

The trial is expected to last three weeks.
