It is up against Rathfinny Winery at Alfriston and Brighton Waste House, an environmentally sustainable property in Brighton.

The Kino was designed by Jonathan Dunn Architects and incorporates part of a Victorian school house on the former library and adult education site at Lion Street.

There were 42 buildings entered in the region, which covers Kent, Surrey and Sussex. Of those 16 were short-listed.

The winners will be announced at a special ceremony in Surrey on April 23.
