Lewes Live 2016, which was set to take place on Friday (July 8) and Saturday (July 9), had to be cancelled at the last minute after its site at Lower Stoneham Farm flooded during storms last week.

Festival organisers apologised for the disruption and have promised to refund all tickets and booking fees.

A spokesman for the festival said: “It is after much consideration and with deep regret that we have had to cancel LewesLive 2016.

“Unfortunately, due to the adverse weather conditions over the past few weeks, the site is still under water and not draining quickly enough. This means we are unable to get the infrastructure in place in time for this weekend. We have tried to source an alternative site but our attempts have been unsuccessful.

“We can only apologise for any inconvenience this will cause to your plans this weekend. This was probably our best line up ever and would love to be able to bring you the bands at a future date. We hope to put on a smaller event later in the Summer and when confirmed will be obviously notify you.

“We will be refunding all ticket sales including any booking fees.”
