Liane Carroll to headlineMusic and Beer Festival

INTERNATIONAL jazz star Liane Carroll will be headlining the seventh Beer and Music Festival at Smallhythe Place, near Rye, on Saturday.

The Festival takes place in the grounds of the beautiful National Trust property and features a top line up of bands as well as 20 plus real ales and six traditional ciders, as well as wine to sample.

The property was once the home of Victorian actress Ellen Terry.

This year sees music from 1pm until 11pm with other artists including John Pearson, Assem Ni and Turpin/Hubbard Band .

Food provided by the Sissinghurst Castle estate will include an all day BBQ and other cold refreshments; there will be other drinks available too.

Kate Shaw, Events Manager said: “This will be our seventh year running the event with the property team, and I am really looking forward to it. I

“It’s the biggest event on our calendar.

“We have made a few tweaks to some things, but it will still be the festival you all know and love. I look forward to seeing you there.’

Extra bus services to and from Tenterden and Rye shall run as previous years. Contact the property for more information.

The family friendly even will also feature Morris dancing and a variety of traditional pub games.

Music takes place in a marquee and in the historic 16th century barn.

The festival starts at 11am with music from 1pm and tickets cost £8 in advance or £10 on the day for adults, children with accompanying adult go free. There is adequate parking on the site.
