Lifeboat crews launched to man ‘in distress’ on Worthing Pier

Shoreham Lifeboat Station confirmed its crew responded to the incident on Tuesday afternoon (February 2).

A spokesman said on Twitter: “Our inshore lifeboat launched to a report of a man in distress on Worthing Pier who it was feared may enter the water this afternoon.

“The lifeboat crew were stood down on route after Sussex Police took him to safety.”
