Steve Tollett, Volunteer Lifeboat Press Officer said: “dedicated supporters braved the squally weather to come and meet the Crew and Sea Safety Officer and have a tea or coffee and meet up with old friends.

“The refreshments, cake stall, cake raffle, tombola, books and souvenirs were well supported resulting in over £500 being raised for RNLI Funds. The 2014 Diaries and Calendar’s went down a storm with the supporters as did the other souvenirs.

“This was a wonderful opportunity to come and meet the people who make it possible for the RNLI to save lives at sea. If you were unable to attend the open day, there will be another chance to come and meet the crew and have a look around on 10th and 11th August between 10am to 3pm for the Station Open Weekend”.
