Lights off please for Earth Hour, Green councillor pleads

The World Wildlife Foundation project encourages people and businesses to turn their lights off for an hour this Saturday, between 8.30 and 9.30pm.
Cllr Sharp said: “Lots of children are learning about the melting ice-caps in school and here is a practical thing you can do at home.

Hide Ad“Turn off your lights for an hour - switch off your televisions and phones and play a game or talk to your family and friends.
“Enjoy a candle-lit dinner and think about what we can all do to make sure that polar bears still have a home!”
She added: “This is not only an event for individuals - large corporations can take part too - HSBC in London turns off its lights for one hour in the city.
“Perhaps we need to ask if Chichester businesses and restaurants and even the Cathedral or other public buildings would like to join in to show their concern for climate Change too.”
