Littlehampton foundry’s expansion bid offers 20 new jobs

TWENTY new jobs could be created if plans for a factory extension at Wick are approved.

Fine Cast Foundry Ltd, of Lineside Way, on the Lineside Industrial Estate, is seeking planning permission for a 5,250 sq ft addition in the rear yard of its existing 8,000 sq ft foundry building.

In a statement submitted to Arun District Council with the planning application, the company says it needs the extra space to build on its success in manufacturing high-quality casting components for the automotive, aerospace, healthcare and defence industries.

At the same time, the existing 1970s building will be given a facelift to match the new extension.

ANGMERING: garage extension to side elevation, Ham Manor Farm Cottages, 4 West Drive.

ARUNDEL: application for approval of details reserved by condition 3 (details and samples) following the grant planning permission AB//64/13/L, 11 Mount Pleasant.

Ground-floor rear extension and internal alterations (this application affects the character or appearance of the Arundel conservation area), 19 King Street. Also, listed building consent application for same.

EAST PRESTON: two-storey extension and alterations, 11 Tamarisk Way.

LITTLEHAMPTON: extension to existing steel-framed, purpose-built industrial unit, plus overclad existing brick and corrugated building with finishes to match new extension, Unit 1, Lineside Way, Lineside Industrial Estate.

Alteration to existing house and erection of two new three-bedroom terraced houses, 18 Belloc Road, Wick.

New detached double garage, 5 Bailey Close.

Construction of ramped access to the front door of the property, 32 Horsham Road.

RUSTINGTON: change of use of existing residential dwelling to form children’s day nursery, and construction of conservatory, 31 Albert Road.

Notice of intention under the Electronic Communications Code (conditions and restrictions) Regulations 2003 to remove three existing antennae and add six new antennae on new brackets and spine headframe, fixed to the top of the tower.
