Littlehampton mayor’s market stall fund-raiser

LITTLEHAMPTON mayor Emma Neno has thanked people who supported the latest two events she staged for her chosen charities.

On Friday (June 15), Emma took over the community stall at the weekly market in the town’s pedestrian precinct, to raise funds for her mayoral charities, CancerWise and Home-Start Arun.

With her partner Darren Merrett and friend Andy Wilkinson, she sold plants, cakes and other treats, bringing in a total of £240.

A few days earlier, Emma held her “Jubilicious” event at the Vardar restaurant and club in Selborne Road, Littlehampton.

Among the 70 people attending the diamond jubilee-themed cream tea were Arun District Council chairman Bill Smee and her husband Bill, and other town and district councillors.

There was musical entertainment for the afternoon, by Collage, and a magical performance by Steve Legg for the children.

A total of £400 was raised for the charities.

Emma said: “I would like to say a big thank-you to Peter, Loretta and their family at the Vardar for putting on such a lovely afternoon, to the entertainers and to the many local businesses who donated prizes for the raffle.”
