Littlehampton ready for lights and winter wonderland

A WINTER wonderland is about to be unveiled in Littlehampton town centre.

The town council and Littlehampton Traders’ Partnership have organised an evening of fun and games, on November 25, when the Christmas lights will be turned on, and stores will open their doors for late-night shopping. Alan Gammon, mayor, will be joined by Naomi Slater, who will be playing Cinderella in the Worthing Connaught Theatre pantomime, to switch on the lights, and entertainment will be in the form of face painting, live performances, horse carriage rides and more. A spokeswoman for the town council said: “To get us all in the party mood there will be festive performances from the Littlehampton Concert Band and Edwin James Festival Choir.

“Those feeling peckish will be spoilt for choice with the range of festive food and drinks on offer including Christmas-inspired specials from Baguette me Not, Polkadot Hear and the Dolphin Pub.” The event runs from 5-8pm, and market stalls will also be staying open late. Chairman of the council’s community resources committee, Joyce Bowyer, said: “This event is a good example of how the council and traders can work together to encourage more visitors to the town and celebrate the good things we have to offer.”
