On Monday a crowd gathered outside the bank on Brunswick Road to watch the ribbon cutting by Adur District Council chairman Mike Mendoza and hear a speech from the branch manager.

The Community Fund Award will give £3,000 to a local good cause. Everyone at the event was given a token to vote for who they wanted the fund to be granted to.

Clive Stoker has been branch manager for six years and made a speech about the history of the bank going back to 1765 when the company was first set up. He also said how proud he was to re-brand the branch back to Lloyds Bank.

The branch re-branding follows the news that Lloyds Banking Group were splitting Lloyds Bank and TSB, though customers can use both banks for everyday transactions as the change takes place.

Clive Stoker, said: “Lloyds Bank has been through many changes and I am delighted to be able to take part in launching this new phase.”

Customer service assistant, Jaqui Peek, said: “It’s been great to organise an event for my local branch and to see the return of the Lloyds Bank brand. I would like to thank Mike Mendoza for attending and also to everyone who came along and showed their support.”
