Lord March offers sympathy to family of time trial driver

GOODWOOD owner Lord March has offered his condolences to the family of a driver killed at the motor circuit.

Sandra Harrison-Moore, from Milton Keynes, was driving a Caterham SuperSeven sports car when she appeared to lose control on Saturday at 2.50pm.

She was immediately dealt with by on-site track medical teams, assisted by the HEMS air ambulance team who then airlifted her to Southampton General Hospital by helicopter with head injuries, but she died from her injuries at 10.10pm.

Speaking on behalf of everyone at Goodwood, Lord March said on Monday: “This appears to have been a tragic accident during a regular time trial event. My thoughts and deepest sympathies go to Mrs Harrison-Moore’s family, who were here with her at the time.”

The incident happened during a controlled time trial event held under the auspices of the Motor Sports Association. Sussex Road Policing officers were immediately called to Goodwood and have been investigating the crash on behalf of the county coroner but there is no evidence of any other vehicle being involved.

An inquest will be opened in due course.
